Applying to Power Law galactic model toward Magellanic clouds

چکیده
After one decade form gravitational microlensing experiments, hundreds microlensing events in different galactic directions and 13 to 17 event (depends of quality) toward Magellanic clouds have been found. One of the central relation in microlensing experiments is between optical depth as a model dependent parameter and the rate of observed events. Here, we redo the calculation of optical depth and the rate of events and correct this formula. In the Evans galactic model we obtain the rate of events with hundred percent efficiency in observation and compare it with output of former microlensing rate relation. A&A manuscript no. Magellanic Stream in MOND
The dynamics of Magellanic Stream (MS) as a series of clouds extended from the Magellanic Clouds (MCs) to the south Galactic pole is affected by the distribution and the amount of matter in the Milky Way (MW). We calculate the gravitational effect of the Galactic disk on MS in the MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) frame work and compare with the observations of the radial velocity. Here we con...

متن کامل2 00 6 Discovery of 14 radio pulsars in a survey of the Magellanic Clouds
A systematic survey of the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds for radio pul-sars using the Parkes radio telescope and the 20-cm multibeam receiver has resulted in the discovery of 14 pulsars and the redetection of five of the eight previously known spin-powered pulsars believed to lie in the Magellanic Clouds. Of the 14 new discoveries, 12 are believed to lie within Clouds, three in the Small Cl...
متن کاملThe high-velocity clouds and the Magellanic Clouds
From an analysis of the sky and velocity distributions of the high-velocity clouds (HVCs) we show that the majority of the HVCs has a common origin. We conclude that the HVCs surround the Galaxy, forming a metacloud of ∼ 300 kpc in size and with a mass of ∼ 3×109 M⊙, and that they are the product of a powerful “superwind” (about 10 58 ergs), which occurred in the Magellanic Clouds about 570 Myr...
متن کاملHMXB, ULX and star formation
Based on recent X-ray observations of the Milky Way, Magellanic Clouds and nearby starburst galaxies we study population of high mass X-ray binaries, their connection with ultra-luminous X-ray sources and relation to the star formation. Although more subtle SFR dependent effects are likely to exist, the data in the lg(LX) ∼ 36 − 40.5 luminosity range are broadly consistent with existence of a "...
